Although hampered by some rain, the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show was well attended with most sales either repowers or noise attenuation issues. We have been designing alot of new underwater discharge systems that give amazing noise reduction, lower exhaust temperature and more economical fuel consumption. Early in May “Coolong” a Halvorsen 50ft sedan cruiser, owned and much loved by Grant Hayes of appliancesonline.com fame ,came out of the water for a birthday. Gavan Mcgann masterminded the perfect team. The tired Detriot 6V92s were getting a rebuild by Alex Somogli, the exhaust installation by Nik larsson, who did a great job. The noise attenuation was brilliant. From around 105 db to around 70 db, the boat now sounds as it should.
As we speak, Nik Larsson is also doing an underwater exhaust on a Cresta 46, we have just completed another on a high speed tunnel boat,351 petrol powered, in South Australia. Also on the go, a Southern Cross 48 in PNG powered by 6V92′s. A complete new design on the existing underwater exhaust that is not performing.
We have a Maritimo 60, in QLD, with exhaust problems, a 43 Mariner in QLD, just fitting our new in line mufflers, a 26 Mariner with a complete new system, a complete new system on a 33 Kevlacat in WA, a couple of Yanmar 500 hp and 700 hp installs and a 22 Scarab in the workshop.
